Nikolai Ubostad works as an applications engineer at COMSOL Norway. He started in 2019, having received his PhD in mathematics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

Increased demand for battery capacity, longevity, and robustness leads to enhanced requirements for the development process and the engineers. Complex phenomena such as electrochemical reactions and heat transport needs to be balanced to optimize efficiency in a battery cell or a battery pack. With the development of tailored applications for scientists and engineers, an even larger community of scientists and engineers may benefit from modeling and simulation of battery systems.
