Dr. Andreas Nyman is a Senior Battery Specialist at Intertek, a leading provider of Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification solutions for their customers’ operations and supply chains. He has a Ph.D in Applied Electrochemistry from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm and has worked with Intertek’s global battery advisory team for over ten years. At Intertek, Dr Nyman works with projects involving regulations and standards, failure analysis, customized safety and performance testing and battery modelling.

Every day an increasing number of battery-operated devices become part of our lives. Everything from toys to consumer electronics, bicycles, winter clothing and even medical devices rely on batteries to function. Bringing these products to market requires developers to navigate multiple compliance roadmaps: end-product requirements and electrical and transportation safety of the battery as well as a multitude of standards and certification schemes. This talk aims to bring some clarity to the often confusing topic of global battery compliance.
