Dr. Alex Friesen is a material scientist with expertise in battery materials and processing technology. He has been working in this field since2011 in various academic and industrial positions and has gained considerable expertise in Lithium-ion battery technology. Currently, he is working as an R&D Manager - Battery Materials at Cabot Corporation, where he is leading the battery application development activities within the EMEA region, which includes setting up the regional technology center for battery materials located in Münster, Germany; and starting and leading an application development team.
"CNT Containing Dispersions for Application in NCM Cathodes"
Cabot Corporation is a world-leading specialty chemicals and performance materials company. We offer the broadest conductive additive (CA) product portfolio. This includes commercially proven carbon black (CB), carbon nanotubes (CNTs), carbonna nostructures (CNS), as well as related dispersions and blends.
CNT and CNS possess remarkable properties, including exceptional electrical conductivity, thermal stability, and mechanical strength. There properties make CNTs attractive for the use as CAs for lithium-ion batteries.
In this presentation we will discuss the current state of CNT-containing dispersions, in particular, how these materials can enable high energy and improved fast charging capability in lithium-ion batteries
